Staying Safe while on your dates

We suggest you start off with a coffee date. It goes without saying that you should go somewhere public. Always it’s a good idea to make this date no later than the mid-afternoon, before it gets dark. Ideally make your first date in a public place and set a start and end time. Make sure you’re on time. First impressions last.

Tell a friend about your exact whereabouts and the times that you have set. Even though at this point you probably think you know this person well, you can never take enough precautions. Going along with a friend is an even better plan and your new friend should respect your choice.

Talk about things you’ve already shared in your previous correspondences. Be alert, as if you’re date is saying different things to what he/she mentioned in you emails, etc, you may be getting lied to.

In times where date-rape is on the increase be vigilant to not leave your drink with your date. If you leave the table, lets say to go to the toilet, get a fresh drink at the counter.
